FASHION WALK/ART WALK THURSDAY
January 13, 2011 6 pm – 10 pm

This Thursday’s January 13th ART WALK with have an increased FASHION WALK presence and it will also be the final time the large space 600 S. Main at 6th Street in the Pacific Electric Building will be used. By next month pre-development will have started for the next new exciting addition to Historic Downtown.

This a milestone for Downtown since the Pacific Electric Lofts space has shown over 20 designers or store owners who have since opened their own stores, or moved their offices, studios and/or production to Downtown or have opened full time showrooms Downtown or have shown at Downtown’s CONCEPT Fashion Week.

Among those showing tonight – and selling at wholesale prices – will be several vintage clothing dealers, a number of jewelry dealers, and upcoming designers Tascha Monique Carter, Tina Summers, Jiping Chen, and artist/designer Marco Rached.

And only half-a-block away – in the other special event of the night – the 600 boutique at 600 S. Spring will feature a special show by local brand – The Bohemian Society.

From 7-10pm designer Victor Wilde and his crew will be shooting models live on the street
while the DJ insights the crowd to dance in frenzy reminiscent of a New York City block party.

FINALLY – below there will be – by tonight – a complete list of the over 20 fashion stores that will also be open this Thursday January 13, 2011.

Twenty-three Downtown fashion stores within walking distance of each other on Main, Spring and LA Streets between 4th and 7th, 20 vintage vendors at the Cooper Building and contemporary designers and vintage pop-ups at the PE Building at 6th & Main will all be open from 6 – 10 PM tonight – Sept. 10th – in Downtown. And there will also be a special appearance by the Cynthia Rowley Fashion truck filled with special sale items on Main between 6th and 7th! See map for locations.

Many of the local designers will also have one night sales such as Fremont’s 75% off of their entire Spring Line at 7th and Main and Skingraft’s 20% sale on everything in the store or on-line near 4th & Main.

Katie Kay will also continue her ‘soft opening’ of her new boutique GATHER at 630 S. Main and only a block away martinMARTIN will have its first unveiling of its flagship store at 713 S. Los Angeles next to the The Cooper Store.
